Ranger work in a park as remote as Banhine is demanding. Good accommodation and the right facilities make a real difference to the people doing it.

When Gilda became a ranger, she and her colleagues were living in tents and spending long periods away from home. Since then, investment in new ranger accommodation and operational infrastructure has improved living and working conditions and given teams better support in the field.

Gilda’s story also shows what the job has meant beyond the park. Her income has helped support her family and pay for her sisters’ education.

Banhine National Park is co-managed by Mozambique’s National Administration for Conservation Areas (ANAC) and Peace Parks Foundation.

Watch the film to meet Gilda and see how investment in Banhine is supporting the rangers who look after this vast and remote park.
