The next generation of leaders safeguarding Africa’s natural heritage

Since its establishment in 2001 by the late Dr Anton Rupert, the SA College for Tourism has been empowering young men and women from rural communities in transfrontier conservation areas. Through specialised training in hospitality, wildlife tracking and rhino protection, the college equips graduates with skills that open doors to careers, while safeguarding Africa’s natural heritage.

This year, 80 students graduated in hospitality and 32 in the Tracker Academy, including lodge trackers and rhino guardians. With a 100% pass rate and deployment success, the college continues to deliver life-changing opportunities. The ceremony marks more than a graduation – it’s a celebration of hope, resilience and transformation. As new leadership steps in, the vision remains to create defenders of nature and leaders of change.
