The tourism and conservation sectors depend on skilled people to support protected areas, tourism businesses and local livelihoods. Through the SA College for Tourism, young people from rural communities gain specialised training in hospitality, wildlife tracking and rhino protection, preparing them for careers in the tourism and conservation sectors.

Supported by Peace Parks Foundation, the college provides comprehensive hospitality training – including front-of-house service and housekeeping – helping graduates secure long-term employment as trackers, chefs, lodge staff and managers across protected areas and tourism destinations.

Their stories show how investment in people strengthens conservation, supports local economies and creates lasting opportunities for young people.
